Marco Island Historical Museum

Description

The Marco Island Historical Museum is well-known for its Key Marco Cat, one of the most significant discoveries in North American archaeology. The museum brings the history of Southwest Florida's Calusa Indians to life with informative displays and an immersive 3-D village. The exhibits cover the island's history from its early days as a pioneer fishing village, pineapple plantation, and clam cannery to its rapid growth and development in the 1960s by the Miami-based Deltona Corporation. The Traveling Exhibit Hall features new exhibits throughout the year.
